- CAFFEINE IN TEA: On average, a 6 oz cup of black tea has about 50 milligrams of caffeine — less than half the amount in a standard cup of brewed coffee. - STEEPING INSTRUCTIONS: Simply heat fresh, filtered water to a rolling boil. Then pour 6 oz of water over a tea bag and steep for 3-5 minutes. Remove the tea bag and enjoy Sip by Sip. After steeping, add the used tea bags to compost or soil — they make gardens happy.
